Recalley is built on a simple principle: your conversations are private. We process audio to extract memories, but we never store your raw recordings on our servers.
1. Who We Are
Recalley ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application available on Android. Our website is recalley.com. For privacy questions, contact us at support@recalley.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
- Audio recordings: When you record a session, the audio is temporarily uploaded to our servers for transcription. The raw audio file is deleted immediately after transcription is complete.
- Transcripts and memories: The text transcript and AI-extracted memories from your sessions are stored securely and linked to your account so you can access them later.
- Usage data: Basic usage information such as session count and plan type is stored to provide the service correctly.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To transcribe your audio into text using OpenAI Whisper.
- To extract key memories, commitments and follow-ups using AI (OpenAI GPT-4o mini).
- To generate session summaries, titles and daily digests on your request.
- To allow you to search and ask questions about your past conversations.
- To authenticate your account and protect your data.
4. Audio Data
Your audio recordings are handled with care:
- Audio is converted to text using OpenAI's Whisper API.
- The raw audio file is deleted from our servers immediately after transcription.
- We do not listen to, review or share your recordings.
- OpenAI processes audio according to their privacy policy.

Your transcripts and memories are stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), a secure cloud database. We use Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to operate the app.

Your account data and memories are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@recalley.com. Raw audio is deleted immediately after transcription.
9. Children's Privacy
Recalley is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
