Privacy Policy – QuietMode

The short version: QuietMode stores nothing on any server. All data lives on your device only. No internet connection is ever used. No accounts. No analytics. No tracking. Your privacy is not a feature — it is the foundation.

01 Who we are

QuietMode is developed and maintained by Levent Kondakci, an independent developer based in Sydney, Australia, published under the Recalley developer account.

02 Information we collect

We collect nothing on any external server. QuietMode stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android DataStore (encrypted on-device storage):

App preferences — your light/dark mode choice, selected call handling option, and VIP bypass toggle.
Active mode state — which quiet mode is running and its end time, so the timer survives app restarts.
Last "Until Morning" usage timestamp — stored locally only to enforce the free tier once-per-week limit.
Onboarding status — a simple flag indicating whether you have completed the welcome screen.

None of this data is transmitted, uploaded, or accessible by us or any third party.

03 Permissions explained

QuietMode requests the following Android permissions. Each is used solely for the feature described — nothing else.

SEND_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS

Used to send automatic reply messages to people who contact you while a quiet mode is active. No SMS content is stored by us or sent to any server.

READ_CALL_LOG

Used to detect missed calls so QuietMode can send an auto-reply SMS. Call log data is never stored beyond the current session and is never transmitted.

READ_PHONE_STATE

Used exclusively for the Premium "Allow repeated callers" feature — detects if the same number calls twice within 5 minutes. This is opt-in. The app works fully without this permission.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Shows a persistent status notification while a mode is active so you can see remaining time and end the mode from the notification shade. Required on Android 13+.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE

Required by Android to keep the status notification and call-handling logic running while the screen is off. Only active when you have a mode running.

04 Third-party services

QuietMode does not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting services, or cloud backends.

The only external dependency is Google Play Billing, used solely to process the optional Premium upgrade purchase. Billing is handled entirely by Google — we never see or store your payment details.

05 Children's privacy

QuietMode is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used this app and you have concerns, please contact us.

06 Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where required, we will notify users through the app or the Google Play Store listing. Continued use of QuietMode after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

07 Your rights

Because QuietMode stores all data locally on your device and transmits nothing to us, you have full control at all times:

Delete all data — uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored preferences and settings.
Revoke permissions — revoke any permission at any time in Android Settings → Apps → QuietMode → Permissions. The app continues working for features that don't require the revoked permission.
